Story telling through Lived Experience

It’s one thing to interview, our difference is we listen.

Our approach to lived experience storytelling is based on authenticity, respect, diversity and safety.

How we do it?

Step 1

Personalise

Showcasing authentic, real life stories helps the audience connect and gives them a sense of walking in someone else’s shoes.

Step 2

Challenges

People with lived experience are expert problem-solvers. Our approach to storytelling highlights the challenges they’ve faced and how they’ve overcome them.

Step 3

Insights

Share what they’ve learnt and the advice they have for others in similar situations.

Epilepsy Awareness

In 2025 we collaborated with a pharmaceutical company to highlight the impact of epilepsy and brain tumours on patients’ quality of life

The project featured Marcus and his family, who provided insights into his personal experience and ongoing care journey.

The video has been shared across our client’s network including internationally.

Marcus describes the filming process below.

The team that came out to film were incredible, so patient as I became fatigued and stumbled over my words, so supportive whenever I got overwhelmed recounting my experience from diagnosis through the last 4 years and they oozed empathy making this truly a wonderful and positive experience.

They took the time to really understand the key messages.

Chris and Gerald were recommended by another NFP and we couldn’t be happier that we went with them. They took the time to really understand the key messages we were trying to deliver and pieced together the narrative perfectly in the video. The video and overall production quality is excellent

Highly professional and friendly team

We’ve been using Poached Egg Pictures for 6 years. They’re highly professional and very friendly. Our non-profit couldn’t be happier with the results

Cancer Council

We filmed Francine’s story to raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Council’s Girls’ Night In.

We delivered a Hero video, 2 social media cut downs and a thank you video.

Five years later, Francine’s video is still used on the front page of the Girls’ Night In website.
